Department of Civil Engineering, SALITER had conducted the water treatment plant visit with a capacity of 400 million litres per day (MLD) is being built at the Kotarpur water treatment plant under Amrit-2.0 and SWAP-3 by the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC). Kotarpur water treatment plant have been installed for treatment of 650 MLD of raw water which fulfill almost 75 to 80 percent water demand in Ahmedabad. In which raw water for treatment is collected by gravity method from Sabarmati river by canal in which in take pipe is consist of 2.5 meter diameter that collect almost 330 to 340 MLD of raw water and collect raw water has almost less than 1 NTU due to clear water source. Recently New treatment plant has been constructed in kotarpur that contain 200 MLD water treatment capacity. BE Civil students of strength 40 nos. were participated and coordinated by Prof. Mittal Shah.
